Title: Teacher Assistant
Reports to: Director
Position: Part-Time M-F, 9:00am-4:00pm, (30 hours minimum)
Early Learning Center is seeking a Teacher Assistant position. The person hired will work under the on-site supervision of a qualified director or teacher who is readily available at all times and will be working with children ranging from 30 months to Kindergarten. M-F, 9:00am-4:00pm, 30 hours minimum.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide high quality care in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment
Complete required documentation including, but not limited to: Monthly Reports, Attendance, InKind, Meal Count, Family Contacts, and Accident Injury Reports.
Rotate classrooms and assist other aides as needed
Teachers Assistants are not permitted to have sole responsibility for a group of children for more than three hours per day.
Additional tasks as needed
The professional hired will not be responsible for the direct supervision of any staff.
Knowledge and Abilities:* Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision. * Ability to handle and resolve challenging problems. * Ability to pass a drug screen, background check and OSBI check per DHS requirements
Must have CDA or experience in Early Childcare learning facility.
Special Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting children or heavy items (up to 50lbs, unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to work safely in an environment containing biological conditions which may be unhealthful or hazardous, (such as bodily fluids and waste, germs, childhood diseases).
Must pass fingerprint clearance test for all appropriate agencies, (such as FBI, Department of Justice, background and Child Abuse Index/Registry Services). Any physical restrictions should be discussed or noted within the interview process.
Arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use a keyboard and telephone, may be subject to walking, standing, sitting, and reaching; and vision, speech, and hearing sufficient to perform the essential tasks.
